The City of Perth has given the go ahead for construction of a new 12-level apartment hotel in Perth – featuring a rooftop restaurant led by a Michelin star chef – to get underway next year.

The development at 8 Parker Street, named TELLUS on Parker, is the first foray into the Australian market for Infinity Capital Group (ICG), a creator of world-class luxury residences in the Asia Pacific region.

Award-winning Perth architecture and development firm Baltinas, led by Barry Baltinas, will  be the Project Architect for the  Multimillion dollar development of TELLUS on Parker for Hong Kong-based ICG.

“This 42-room hotel will offer a bespoke living and an elegant, timeless architectural experience, with a rooftop pool with glass panel walls visible from the street,” said Mr Baltinas.

“Tellus on Parker carries with it a geometric Architectural building language that plays with light and shade amongst the Biophilic greenery thereby providing for a very encapsulating and comfortable environment for the end users”

“In addition to the rooftop restaurant and poolside bar overlooking Northbridge and the city, it will feature a café and bar on the lower levels with an alfresco area overlooking Russell Square’s parklands which will be open to both hotel guests and the public.

“Internally, TELLUS on Parker offers unprecedented, innovative and sophisticated layouts, details and finishes.

“Biophilic design principles and the latest in active and passive energy management and rainwater harvesting technology are also at play in this exciting new building.”

“We are looking forward to continuing to work closely with Infinity Capital Group to create an unprecedented architectural masterpiece for Northbridge that will take its pride of place in this wonderful City of ours that we love, Perth.”

Mr Baltinas said with one of the hotel’s’ neighbouring properties in use as a wedding venue, TELLUS on Parker would present a perfect short-stay option for newlyweds and their guests.

“This world-class development is another vote of confidence for Perth’s hotel market and will be something different for the city,” he said.

“We are proud to contribute to Tellus’ vision and expansion into Australia and look forward to creating an outstanding piece of architecture in Parker Street amongst its eclectic mix of modern boutiques, hip eateries and upscale bars.”

“TELLUS on Parker will be a significant milestone of our company development, and is the first step toward the expansion of our TELLUS brand in Australia,” said Jonathan Cheng, CEO of ICG.

Construction is due to begin in mid 2020.
