Homebuyers can get their first up-close look at a new $19 milion boutique residential development in the heart of Applecross during its official launch this weekend.

Completed by Mercedes Construction, Baltinas' Habitat Residences is built over six levels, with basement parking, a communal rooftop terrace, 12 one-, two- and three-bedroom, one- or two-bathroom apartments, and two three-bedroom 2.5-bathroom penthouses.

On an elevated block in Kintail Road, the terrace and homes on the top two floors afford uninterrupted vistas of the Swan River and city.

All the apartments feature spacious open-plan living areas and balconies or terraces, some include a study and there are high-end finishes throughout, from engineered natural stone benchtops in the kitchen and bathroom to engineered flooring with acoustic underlay.

The double-floor penthouses include premium architect-designed fixtures and fittings as well as a private rooftop terrace offering views.

Baltinas founder Barry Baltinas said homes are still available, with the penthouses attracting high levels of interest from local downsizers.

"These residences, which evoke calm and are elegant and thoughtful, featuring balanced design, are proving popular with downsizers who want a blue-chip location but are not keen on retirement village living," he said.

Mr Baltinas said as COVID-19 restrictions eased in WA, it is evident people have a renewed perspective on what they want in a home, with the desire for it to be their haven more evident than ever.

"Buyers inspecting our $32 million Camilla Residences development in Mount St in West Perth are telling us they're increasingly interested in boutique properties with more privacy, less foot traffic and extra trimmings," he said.

"For those with more significant budgets, homes that offer high-end inclusions like pools, spas and private entertaining and dining spaces with views are obviously especially attractive following recent events."

Habitat Residences homes start from $585,000 and viewings at 36 Kintail Road will be held from 10.30am to 1.30pm on July 4 and 5.

Camilla Residences at 37 Mount St will be open from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on July 4 and has apartments priced from $855,000.

Private inspections are also available.
